PART 'P' ISN'T COMING -- IT'S HERE !!!

On 29th June the Government finally announced that Part P of the Building Regulations will become a legal requirement in January 2005. The purpose of the new section of the Regulations is to ensure that electrical work in Domestic locations meets similar standards to those in the Workplace. As the electrical industry's standards watchdog the NICEIC have said - "domestic electrical installers now need to focus on meeting the requirements and the positive aspects that this legislation will bring - driving out cowboy contractors, and a more level-playing field in which to operate".

It is thought that up to 200,000 businesses will be affected. A number of bodies have been selected by Government to operate self-certification schemes in support of the new legislation.

In addition to registering for one of the official schemes it is clear that there will be a significant training gap for some of the applicants to fill. The Lowe Group's main focus has always been Electrical Safety, so it goes without saying that we will want to be heavily involved in this new drive for greater safety in the home. As the Training Provider that British Gas turned to for their highly successful HOMECARE service its natural for us to offer TRAINING FOR PART 'P' APPLICANTS.

Find out about our forthcoming new Training course by contacting ALAN RILEY on 01709 360621 or email Alan at PART P TRAINING. To find out more about registration to Part 'P' DAVID BARKER will point you in the right direction - call him on 01709 360621 or email to SIGN UP FOR PART 'P'

NOW WE'RE PARTNERS!

The Lowe Group are delighted to announce that we have entered into a Partnering Agreement with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council which provides a 5 year programme for Electrical Services installations throughout the Borough. The Lowe Group are one of only two local companies to be invited to join the Partnership.

LOWE ON THE ROAD

We were in Leeds on June 16that the Ramada Leeds Parkway for the Group's summer Electricity at Work Regulations seminar. A good audience heard presentations on how to comply with the Law and received an insight into how the HSE worked from Ernie Walker - a former Senior HSE Electrical Inspector.

We are back down south in the autumn for our next Seminar to be held at the Hilton hotel in Bracknell. To book your place contact Rob Woodcock on 01709 360621 or email him at SEMINAR BOOKINGS

Can't make it to Bracknell? Then contact Rob to arrange a personal visit or a FREE information pack on 01709 360621 or email him at INFO ON EAWR
